Errors In Use of Adjective
An Adjective is a word used to qualify a noun or pronoun.
(1) The adjective ending in ---ior ( prior, junior, senior, superior, inferior, posterior) take 'to' and 'than' after them.
Examples :- He is senior to me.
This book is superior to that book.

Some adjectives like unique, ideal, perfect, extreme, complete,
universal, infinite, perpetual, chief, round, impossible are not
compared.
Examples :- It is the most unique book. ( it is False)
It is the unique book. ( it is True)
(3) Comparative degree is used in comparing two things or persons.
Examples :- It is the better of the two books.
Superlative degree is used in comparing more than two things or persons.
Examples :- He is the best of the three boys.
(4) Double superlatives and double comparatives must not be used.
Examples :- He is more wiser than his brother. ( it is False)
He is wiser than his brother.( it is True)
(5) When we compare two qualities in the same person or thing, the comparative ending
-er is not used.
Examples :- You are wiser than old.
You are more wise than old.
